Alice & William Jenkins Gallery and Heritage Center Gallery—Bigger Than A Scrapbook: The Talking Quilts of Lauren Austin. This exhibition tells stories with photographic portraits in fabric that portray lifestyle, family, political and legal themes relating to the black experience. This two-venue exhibition, curated by Henry Sinn, will open with a reception held on January 15 from 7 to 10 p.m., beginning with a gallery talk at Crealdé School of Art’s Jenkins Gallery, followed by a live-music reception at The Heritage Center.
